Viraam

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 19, 2026

Viraam (“we”, “the app”) is a mindful app-blocker. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. The guiding principle is simple: Viraam is local-first and does not require an account or login. Most of what the app knows never leaves your device.

What the app stores on your device

  • Your settings and choices — which apps you guard, pause length, grace period, theme, accent colour, and sound. Stored locally on your device only.
  • Which app is currently in the foreground — read via Android’s Usage Access permission so Viraam knows when to show the Pause. This is used on-device only and is never transmitted to us or anyone else.

What is processed to run subscriptions

Viraam Pro subscriptions are handled by RevenueCat and Google Play Billing. To verify your subscription, the following is processed:

  • RevenueCat: an anonymous app-user identifier, your subscription/purchase status, and basic device information. RevenueCat does not receive your name or email (the app has no login).
  • Google Play Billing: your purchase and payment are handled by Google under your Google Play account. We never see your card or payment details.

What we do not do

  • No account, sign-in, name, or email is collected.
  • No advertising SDKs and no third-party analytics/tracking.
  • No selling or sharing of personal data with data brokers or advertisers.

Sensitive permissions, explained

  • Usage Access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): to detect which app you’ve opened so Viraam can show the Pause for apps you chose to guard. Processed on-device only.
  • Display over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): to draw the Pause overlay on top of a guarded app.
  • Internet & network state: to verify your subscription with RevenueCat / Google Play and to tell you when those features are offline.

How the data is used and shared

On-device data is used solely to make the app work as you configured it. Subscription data is used only to grant or restore your Viraam Pro access, and is shared only with RevenueCat and Google Play for that purpose. It is governed by RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy and Google’s Privacy Policy.

Data retention & deletion

On-device data is removed when you uninstall the app. Subscription records held by RevenueCat and Google Play are retained under their respective policies. To request deletion of any data associated with your purchases, email us at surajsambathkumar@gmail.com and we’ll help.

Security

Network requests use encrypted HTTPS connections. On-device settings are stored in the app’s private storage.

Children

Viraam is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date.
